Otuhaka Beach Resort is located on a picturesque white sandy beach about 20 minutes drive from Nuku'alofa Town on the far north western tip of the main island. The resort faces west and the open ocean, with Tonga's best accessable surfing break and good snorkelling. With budget style rooms and bungalows and a more upmarket suite, this is primarily a surf destination but also makes a great budget base for exploring the wonderful sites of Tongatapu.

Detailed Info
Otuhaka Beachh Resort offers three types of accommodation. The simple A-frame beach huts have a queen size bed with fan and share a communal bathroom with shower (no hot water). The Bungalow Rooms sleep three people, have private bathrooms (no hot water) and fan. There is also a two bedroom apartment which can sleep up to six people - each bedroom has a double bed with fan and two additional single beds can be used in the lounge. The apartment has a fully equiped kitchen, private bathroom with hot water, living room with T.V. and a reclining sofa, and a cool veranda overlooking the resort.
Snorkelling in the lagoon is good and snorkel gear can be rented from the resort. Kayaks can also be rented to explore the lagoon
Otuhaka is only a one minute walk and a short paddle across the lagoon to the most consistent surfing wave on the island, “The Pass.” Several other offshore breaks are within walking distance and only minutes away. April through October is the winter south swell season, while November through May is the summer swell season. Boat trips can be arranged for those who want to surf the outer reefs.
